Description:

“Laudamus te” evokes the tranquility of the Nativity, while simultaneously expressing the grandiosity of the Incarnation of Christ. While the scene on earth is peaceful and serene, the heavenly hosts sing their praises to God, rejoicing in the highest heights. To effectively achieve these different expressions of adoration, the verses are to be sung as a gentle lullaby, while the refrain (“Gloria tibi”) is an ecstatic outburst of joy to the heavens. A lyrical tenor voice will be well-suited to the solos in this piece.
