Description:

This fresh, sprightly Easter carol combines the text of John of Damascus with a tune from the Mainz Gesangbuch incorporating the original Latin in the refrain. Appropriate throughout the Easter season. Also in this edition (but not on the demo recording) is “Pentecost Carol,” featuring a text by George Timms combined with a Dutch folk melody that has characteristic melodic curves and unusual phrase lengths.
