Tune Name: Cranham
Text Source: Christina Rossetti, 1830–1894, alt.
Series: Westminster Choir
Difficulty Level: E/M
Description:
For Christmas concerts, lessons and carols services, or worship settings, the pairing of Rossetti’s poignant carol with Dunnewald’s arrangement of Holst’s tune provides a welcome balance with the more exuberant carols. It can be performed with organ alone, but the brass ensemble adds color and text painting in a straightforward manner.
The percussion parts are for suspended cymbal and tubular bells.
