Description:
The choral piece this edition is based on uses two equal choirs singing the same material a half measure apart. To maintain the echo effect in this transcription for handbells and keyboard, the handbell ensemble should be softer than the keyboard. The dynamics are indicated to reflect this intent. However, they may need to be adjusted to account for differences in timbre and physical placement of the piano or organ in relation to the handbells. Another option is to have the piece performed by two handbell ensembles each playing the handbell score a half measure apart. In this case the keyboard score would not be played.
