Description:
“Carillon du Longpont” is among the most popular from Vierne’s collection 24 Pièces en style libre (pieces in free style). While there have been arrangements of large-scale organ works for brass quartet/quintet and organ—this edition was composed for modest forces, useful for festive occasions in places with limited resources.
The two-trumpet “overlay” is accessible for players of intermediate (or intermediate-plus) abilities. The organ part may be played on the manuals only, so this arrangement will be within reach for organists who are primarily pianists, or whose pedal technique is still developing.
