Description:
This gentle partner song conveys a plaintive call for “love’s pure light” to bring peace and harmony in the holiday season. It opens with the beloved carol tune “Cradle Song,” (commonly known as “Away in a Manger”), sung to an inspired new text that prepares the entrance of the familiar canon “Dona Nobis Pacem.” In the final verse, the two tunes combine in their call for peace. Colorful harmonies and an optional flute obbligato highlight this easily prepared offering for singers of all ages for holiday concerts and Advent and Christmas worship.
