Kring, Katie

Katie Kring (b. 1983) is a composer and writer based in Springfield, Missouri. She received her Master of Fine Arts in Musical Theatre Writing at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts and her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Performing Arts Technology at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor.

 

As a composer, lyricist, and bookwriter, she has written over half a dozen musicals that have been seen in New York, California, and points in between, and songs that have been performed internationally. Recent productions include PEARL at Goodspeed Musicals; ONWARD at 59E59 in New York City, FARMERS MARKET THE MUSICAL, in West Virginia; KELLY THE DESTROYER VS THE SPRINGFIELD COBRAS in Spokane, Washington, and multiple commissions for the Monterey Bay Aquarium.

 

When she’s not writing, she runs a successful baking company, KatieMade, which specializes in artisan breads, gourmet confections, and all manner of other things fantastical and delicious.
