Daniel Laginya was born June 18, 1956 in Warren, Ohio, and graduated from Warren Western Reserve High School. After two years of schooling at Kent State University, he attended Youngtown State University (Youngstown, Ohio) where he received the Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Music degrees summa cum laude. He received a Master of Music degree from Youngstown State University's Dana School of Music.

Mr. Laginya has been Director of Music, Organist-Choirmaster at the Cathedral of Saint Columb in Youngtown since 1981, and is the Assistant Director of Youngtown Music Sacra. In 1986, he completed an urtext edition of the complete organ works of Jean-Henri d'Anglebert. He has several choral works in the GIA catalog.
