Brian A. Schmidt joined Duke Chapel in 2012 where he is Assistant Conductor and Administrative Coordinator of Chapel Music. He also serves as conductor of the Duke Vespers Ensemble and Duke Divinity School Choir. Brian graduated in May of 2012 from the University of North Texas, where he completed the DMA and MM degrees under the direction of Dr. Jerry McCoy and Dr. Richard Sparks. Prior to that, Brian completed a B.M.E. in Choral Conducting in 2003 from South Dakota State University. 

Brian and his wife Andrea are proud parents to Ella Margaret and Ruby Marie, as well as their cocker spaniel, Abby.
