Description:
Steve Warner paired a text by John Bowring with the tune ABERYSTWYTH by Joseph Parry in this superb arrangement. We begin with the shimerring sounds of handbells as the dulcet tones of the flute softly outline the melody and lead us to the first verse, sung by unison men's voice with guitar, strings, and organ. Succeeding verses offer well-conceived compositional devices including modulation, varied vocal textures with countermelodies, and instrumental interludes. "Watchman, Tell Us of the Night" exudes a sense of tranquility and peace. A marvelous addition to your Christmas repertoire!
