Alessandro Scarlatti, 1660–1725, was one of the most important composers of the later Baroque. His output is large and varied, with many compositions for voices.
Athough only three instrument parts are presented, two violins and basso continuo, Salve Regina is intended to be orchestrated with multiple players on a part. The instrumentation may be strings, woodwinds or any combination imagined.
