Description:
Based on the southern Appalachian hymn tune resignation, this hauntingly beautiful instrumental arrangement pairs organ and bagpipe in a duet that paints a picture of dawning hope. The chanter of the bagpipe sounds the melody, which is then echoed by the organ. The two come together briefly in a rich harmonic exchange only to repeat their eloquent discourse as they ascend toward a triumphant ending. This piece makes a perfect meditation for any Sunday throughout Eastertide.
Piece is originally intented for Great Highland Bagpipe, but C Instrument and B-flat Instrument parts are also included.
