from the Foreword
Singing together can change a school. When hundreds of students, teachers, and parents join their voices in song, community deepens and confidence grows.
In Leading Large Group Singing, you’ll find practical guidance for planning and leading successful singing experiences for your entire school community. Whether you are a music specialist, a classroom teacher, or a school leader, this book offers 40 time-tested songs that make large group singing accessible, meaningful, and musical.
Rooted in the philosophy of John M. Feierabend, this collection draws from the folk music tradition and is designed to inspire joyful participation and musical independence. With songs and activities organized from simple to more advanced—and video demonstrations to support—Leading Large Group Singing equips you to unite your school through song.
