Stucky’s Funeral Music for Queen Mary is a selective compilation of three of the five pieces Purcell provided for the 1695 funeral of Queen Mary II.
It is generally believed that the original music consisted of a march, a canzona (written for four flatt (double-slide) trumpets), and three choral anthems.
Two other elegies were composed and published after the funeral.
