Do Not Go Gentle Into That Good Night was commissioned by Glenn Hull and the Peninsula High School Band of Gig Harbor, Washington.
This single-movement work (approximately eleven minutes and fifteen seconds in duration) was inspired by the famous poem of the same name by Dylan Thomas.
However, the composer clearly states that the music is not meant to be a programmatic depiction of the poem. Rather, Del Borgo attempts to recreate the essence of the poem in sound.
