Attende Domine, 10th c. Latin
Music Source: Mode V, arr. Rob Glover
Series: Choral
Difficulty Level: E/M
Description:
This Latin hymn setting introduces contrapuntal singing of chant. It is scored for SATB choir, but can be adapted for two-part voices (mixed, treble, or bass choirs), as well as for SAB choirs by moving between treble or bass voice parts as needed. "Attende Domine" works well with the hymnals of GIA and WLP, enabling the assembly to join on the refrain. The piece can be sung by the choir as a prelude or during the Preparation of the Gifts. If used for the Entrance Chart during Lent, the Greek Kyrie chant could follow as part of the Penitential Act.
