Description:

With All Glorious Above, the fifth in our series of photocopiable resources for RSCM Press, we respond to a frequently expressed need for material for upper voices only. As before we have selected straightforward and easily learned arrangements with accessible accompaniments, and the 104 items included here are arranged thematically to enable music directors to home in on the most suitable items for a particular festival, occasion or theme.

A variety of styles is represented in the collection, and we hope that every item will be found attractive and rewarding for singers and listeners alike. Some are for unison singing, others require a two or three-part choir; and in order to respond to the widest possible range of needs we have made several pieces available in more than one version.

We are delighted to include the work of a range of contemporary composers including Malcolm Archer, Paul Edwards, Barry Ferguson, Thomas Hewitt Jones, Simon Lole, Colin Mawby, Philip Moore, Matthew Owens, Andrew Reid, Margaret Rizza, John Rutter and Ian Wicks. The title for this latest collection comes from Robert Grant’s hymn based on Psalm 104, which begins – O worship the King, all glorious above; O gratefully sing his power and his love. In that spirit we offer All Glorious Above to all upper voice choirs, trusting that its contents will enable them to sing the praises of God in Robert Grant’s words ‘with true adoration.’

The accompanying CD-ROM offers a range of extra material: * Simpler arrangements of some of the three-part pieces, making them accessible to two-part and unison choirs * items with English texts where the original is in Latin * vocal parts alone (with accompaniment cues) for items that run to over four pages, reducing the number of pages needed for photocopying * accompaniments alone (with vocal cues), reducing the amount of page turning otherwise necessary in a long item

Please note: Photocopies of the works within this collection may be made for LOCAL USE ONLY (eg. for your choir and congregation) and under no circumstances may they be sold. The vast majority of items in this book are also covered by the CCLI Music Reproduction Licence. If you have a CCLI MRL, please include every item that you copy in your annual CCLI report, quoting ‘All Glorious Above’. This doesn’t cost you, your church or school anything but it does ensure that composers, authors and publishers get due financial recognition for their work.
