Description:

This Mass setting was written to serve the composer’s home parish comprised of families from the Caribbean Islands. Offering a festive and celebratory feel, the accompaniment in the first half of the Mass is in calypso style. A more meditative reggae style is used in the second half of the Mass. Though the Mass setting is notated, it is important to listen to these styles in order to perform the accompaniment with the right Caribbean musical feeling. The Mass is not sung in any Caribbean dialect and can be sung as you would any traditional English Catholic Mass.

A beautiful way to lift up the music rhythms of the Caribbean during the liturgy!
