Page, Sue Ellen

Sue Ellen Page is the Director of Choirs for Children and Youth at Nassau Presbyterian Church, Princeton, NJ, a position she has held since 1982. Areas of particular interest include creating teaching strategies and conducting techniques for un-auditioned voices of all ages; expanding the use of the fine arts in worship; and developing the congregation’s song. Sue Ellen has conducted choral festivals for children and youth across the country and internationally. She has prepared and taught teacher training seminars for most of the main line denominations as well as professional organizations, composed arrangements and compositions for children and youth (published with Choristers Guild, Hinshaw, H.T. FitzSimons, Schott, G.I.A. and Hope) and is the author of a book, Hearts and Hands and Voices: Growing in Faith Through Choral Music. Sue Ellen holds undergraduate and graduate degrees from Westminster Choir College of Rider University in Music Education and Sacred Music and has held adjunct faculty positions there. She also holds the Specialist Diploma from the Orff-Institute, Mozarteum, in Salzburg, Austria. She is the founding Director of the Trenton Children’s Chorus, an outreach program of the church. She is a recipient of the NJ Governor's Award for excellence in the arts, and was named an honoree in the Princeton YWCA's Tribute to Women. Sue Ellen is married to Eric Johnson, a family therapist on the faculty at Drexel University. They are the parents of four adult children and recently entered Grandparent Land.

July 22-27, 2012 Sue Ellen will teach in the Advanced Seminar for Alumni at the Choristers Guild Institute at Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary, Louisville, Kentucky.
