AuCoin, Scott

Scott AuCoin is a conductor, performer, and composer of choral music. He currently serves as Associate Director of Choral Activites at University of Alabama School of Music where he conducts University Chorus, Tenor Bass Chorus, and teaches courses in conducting and choral literature. Previous appointments inclide Interim Director of Choral and Vocal Studies at Haverford College, Associate Conductor of the Master Chorale of South Florida, and Choir Director at Marriotts Ridge High School in Howard County, MD. As a choral singer, Dr. AuCoin has sung many of the major symphonic choral works under such batons as Helmuth Rilling, Marin Alsop, and Yannick Nézet-Séguin. He has written compositions for a wide range of ensembles and has had performances from choirs across the country. Dr. AuCoin holds degrees from the University of Maryland, Westminster Choir College, and the University of Miami Frost School of Music.
