Francia, Michelle Joy
Michelle has been singing in choirs since the 4th grade and is currently a member of Ensemble Laude in Victoria, BC, where she lives with her husband and two children. A former member of the Hangad Music Ministry, she has written lyrics in Filipino for numerous liturgical and inspirational songs, including co-writing the lyrics for Pieta, Oyayi sa Paanan ng Krus, which won the Awit Award for Best Religious/Inspirational Song.
Michelle earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Management Information Systems from the Ateneo de Manila University. Her time in Spain, where she learned Spanish, allowed her to translate St. Ignatius’ Suscipe into Tagalog for the song Kunin Mo, O Diyos, At Tanggapin.
