Larry J. Long was most recently Organist & Choirmaster at The Church of the Epiphany (Episcopal) in New York City, 2009-2020.
Active as a composer as well as an organist and conductor, Mr. Long has compositions published by GIA Publications, World Library Publications, Paraclete Press, Augsburg Fortress, and St. James Music Press. He was also accompanist and occasional singer for the Cathedral Singers, a Chicago professional choir directed by Richard Proulx.
Mr. Long received the Bachelor of Music degree in church music from Valparaiso University and the Master of Music degree in organ performance from Southern Methodist University. Other studies included the Royal School of Church Music in England, and with Anton Heiller at the Haarlem Summer Academy for Organists in the Netherlands. Organ teachers included Robert Anderson and Philip Gehring; choral studies were with Eldon Balko and Lloyd Pfautsch. He is the Registrar for the New York City Chapter of the American Guild of Organists, and also a member of the Association of Lutheran Church Musicians and American Composers Forum.
