Barton, Katie
Katie Barton received her Bachelor of Music Education and Master of Arts in Teaching degrees from the University of Louisville. She studied piano with Dr. Brenda Kee, organ with Melvin Dickinson, voice with Edith Davis Tidwell, and choral conducting with Dr. Kent Hatteberg. She then taught high school and middle school choir for eight years.
In February 2004, Katie was one of 110 vocalists selected from North America to perform at Carnegie Hall as a member of the Robert Shaw Chorale Workshop.
Katie began her music ministry career at Corpus Christi Parish in 1995, followed by Holy Spirit Parish in 1999, both in Newport, Kentucky. She is currently the Director of Music Ministry for St. Timothy Parish in Union, Kentucky where she directs an adult choir, a children's choir, a funeral choir, and a contemporary ensemble.
She resides in Northern Kentucky with her husband, Paul, and daughter, Elizabeth.
