Joan Isaacs Litman has spent nearly five decades as a music educator and choral director in the New York City metropolitan area. Driven by the desire to spark curiosity and appreciation of Middle Eastern cultures, Joan has devoted much of her career to the songs of the Middle East. Joan is the founding Artistic Director of Cantigas Women’s Choir, and the Mustard Seed School, Hoboken, NJ. She recently was honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award by the Organization of American Kodály Educators.
