Moleck, Fred
Fred Moleck, PhD. In 2001, after forty-six years of parish music ministry and after thirty-nine years of university and college teaching, he retired from those activities and began a new phase of church work. He became the director of the Office for Worship for the Diocese of Greensburg, in western Pennsylvania from which he retired in 2005. In 2004, he was awarded the Michael Mathis Award in Pastoral Liturgy by the Notre Dame Center for Liturgy. In 2006, he was awarded the Pastoral Musician of the Year by the National Association of Pastoral Musicians (NPM). He authored two books published by GIA Publications, Inc., (GIA) and numerous articles in both Roman Catholic and Lutheran periodicals. He served as the editor of the GIA Quarterly, the journal for liturgical music published by GIA, for over two decades. He also served as a summer adjunct faculty member of the Graduate Program in Pastoral Ministries at Santa Clara University in California.
