King, Feargal G.
Feargal King was born in the west of Ireland and moved to the US in 1993. He holds a B.Mus. (Bachelor Of Music) from University College, Cork, and a Diploma in Sacramental Liturgy from the Irish Institute of Pastoral Liturgy, Maynooth, both in Ireland.
He began composing liturgical song as a college student and his intuitive style quickly caught on with the Irish church “folk groups” of the 1980s and 90s, a number of which songs are still sung there today and have found their way into various Irish and British liturgical resources. Feargal continues to compose in a variety of styles, with pieces published in several countries, including the US. He also works in recording and audio/video production, website development, and Irish Music entertainment.
Feargal has worked in several parishes across the United States, including 15 years as a Diocesan Chorale director for Rockford, Illinois. He currently resides with his wife LeShawn in Maryland, where he is Director of Music at St. Joan of Arc Parish in the City of Aberdeen.
