Collins, Drew
Drew Collins is a conductor and composer.
He serves as Music Director for First Unitarian Society of Madison, Wisconsin. Previously, he served on the choral faculties of Central Connecticut State University, Wright State University, and Augustana College, conducted the University of Cincinnati Men’s Chorus, and taught music in the public schools.
Collins has served as Senior Choral Editor to two music publishing companies, editorial consultant to two others, and on the editorial review panel for the National Collegiate Choral Organization's choral series. An authority on choral repertory, he has served as octavo reviewer for Choral Journal, served as repertoire forum columnist of Choral Director magazine, and contributed to volume III of “Teaching Music Through Performance in Choir.”
Dr. Collins has compositions, arrangements, and editions published by the finest music publishers. He is commissioned frequently, and several works are premiered each year.
Dr. Collins holds degrees from Concordia College, Boston University, and University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music. He has studied with René Clausen, Ann Howard Jones, Daniel Moe, and Earl Rivers. He is in demand as a festival director, clinician, and adjudicator.
