Fedderly, David
David T. Fedderly retired after thirty-one years as Principal Tuba of the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra. He graduated from Northwestern University with a degree in music education where he was a student of the late Arnold Jacobs and has over 30 years of private and studio teaching in numerous universities including the Peabody Conservatory of the Johns Hopkins University, University of Maryland, The Juilliard School, Wheaton College, DePaul University and The Catholic University of America and is active as a clinician throughout the United States. He also works at the Musician’s Lip Service (Baltimore, Maryland) in conjunction with Dr. Craig VanderKolk, a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon and David Shulman, Board Certified Physical Therapist diagnosing, rehabilitating and re-training injured brass players. In 1992, he founded the Baltimore Brass Co. located in Catonsville, Maryland. Distinguished as a destination for musicians worldwide; the company specializes in sales of new and used instruments and a full repair department. He is the 2016 recipient of the International Tuba Euphonium Association Lifetime Achievement Award.
