Carlos Simon was born in Washington DC in 1986. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Music (with concentrations in piano and composition) from Morehouse College and a Master of Music degree from Georgia State University. He has studied composition with Robert Tanner, Uzee Brown, TJ Anderson, and Nicktas Demos.
He has had his works performed by the Morehouse College Glee Club, the Nationale Conference for Catholic Musicians and the Spelman/Morehouse String Quartet. In 2008, his composition “Sanctus” was published as part of the African American Church Music Series by GIA Publications, Inc. The piece was later premiered at the Hampton Minister’s and Church Music Conference Concert.
His music appears nightly on the Herman Cain Show. Simon has compositions published by GIA Publications, Inc.
Simon is a member of ASCAP, Society of Composers and Pi Kappa Lambda Music Honor Society. He currently serves as organist/pianist for the Antioch Baptist Church.
Simon maintains an active career as a keyboardist performing locally and abroad with artists such as N’Dambi, Yahzarah, Russell Taylor, Gabbie McGhee and Angie Stone.
