Crabtree Powell, Linda
Linda Crabtree Powell is a noted choral teacher whose innovative choral programs have attracted a great deal of praise. Currently Ms. Powell teaches at Trinity High School, a Sinsinawa Dominican college preparatory school for young women in River Forest, Illinois. Her choirs there have traveled and performed in Toronto, Ireland, and Spain as well as the annual holiday performances at the Art Institute of Chicago and other museums. All of the published programs in Compelling Choral Concerts have been performed at Trinity.
Ms. Powell graduated from the University of Michigan with a Bachelor of Music with Distinction and a Masters of Music in Piano from the American Conservatory of Music. She was a visiting artist at the American Academy in Rome in 2005 and also had a music sabbatical in Cortona, Italy, where she spends time regularly.
Ms. Crabtree Powell founded the acclaimed B.R.A.V.O! (Band, Repertoire, Art, Vocal, Orchestra) arts program when a music teacher in Oak Park, Illinois. She also was the accompanist for Glen Ellyn Children’s Choir (now known as Anima) Ms. Powell sings with the Michael Teolis Singers.
From an early age, determined to make up and sing songs, Ms. Powell now creates choral programming for choirs to perfom and audiences to enjoy!
